  The food was good and I found there the first beer I actually like... The reason I only give a 2 stars, although the service (FOH) was pretty good, my problem is with the kitchen staff (BOH)...
  
  I ordered a type of meat that I had never eaten before and I asked it to be rare (not blue, not medium rare either)... when the food arrived, the little meat I had in my plate looked medium cooked... I kindly asked the waitress to see to it that I get a meat cooked rare...
  
  She came back a few minutes later with my plate and more than half of the meat missing from it (it used to be a tiny piece of meat, which was not totally sliced down in 5 slices as to give the visual effect of a fan... let's just say that 3 of those slices were missing and the kitchen staff just rearranged the meat so that it looked as "big" as before... so basically they opened up and spread the 2 remaining slices so that it gave the impression of having the full amount of meat that I had before, which I didn't!)... This way of behaving is a HUGE NO-NO in the restauration/service industry!!!
  
  The way the kitchen staff (BOH) should have proceeded is to cook a brand new piece of meat! Specially considering that they ate 3/5 of my tiny piece of meat! Not only that, I had to pay the full price for that meal!
  
  In other words, they ripped me off!!!
  
  The ONLY problem I found there was the kitchen staff not doing their job properly and basically stealing 3/5 of my meat!
  
  The wait staff was GREAT! Very nice, polite, and eager to make sure everything was ok for us! And doing their best to make our outing pleasant!
  
  So, although the wait staff (1 girl in her 20's) was great! I really suggest you stay away from this restaurant because you'll get robbed by the kitchen staff!

  We went with a group on coupon, and even for the lower price, I wouldnt go back. The place needs a real facelift yes, but thats not the main reason. The food was mediocre at best - we had the mussels and fries. Some of the fries were crunchy, some were greasy and limp - it made me wonder where all these different types of fries came from...the service was not very good, unpleasant and cold. If its because we had a coupon, dont worry, we wont be back!

  I've been twice with my girlfriend and we both enjoyed our meals both times. Today I had the daily special which was a Belgian waffle with 3 pieces of fried chicken drizzled with a hot honey mustard sauce which was suprisingly very tasty, it was accompanied with a cucumber, radish, apple and dill slaw which was also very tasty. Service was very friendly. Bottle of beer are expensive but that is expected for 8% + belgian imports especially if you've been to places like bier markt or the old bieres et compagnies. Overall a good experience, aestetically the place needs some updating but my girlfriend said she liked the decor. Negative responses probably from stuck up west islanders, who think they are almighty food critics lmao
